Love, compassion, sacrifice, courage. These four words describe my mom. Since the day I was born, my mother has been the one constant in my life. She has brought me a thousand smiles, a mountain of laughter, and an endless amount of hugs and kisses. When I was feeling down, she lifted me up. When I was scared, she made me feel safe. I don’t know if many people realize just how amazing my mom truly is. And for Mother’s Day this year, I wanted to shine some light on the incredible person that I call my mom. Because she ….Read More

Shout-Out to My Co-Author
I just want to take a minute to tell the world how supportive and awesome my co-author is. I feel blessed to have Danielle as a writing partner and as a friend. One of the struggles Danielle and I have had to overcome as published authors is learning how to keep to a schedule. Developing that writing routine. Before, writing was always a fun hobby and we simply followed our inspiration. But to make a career out of it… well that takes routine and discipline over inspiration. With each book we write, we’ve been figuring out the best way that ….Read More
Story Sample – Distance Between Us
It’s been a while since we last shared a story sample. We hope you enjoy this one and we’d love to hear your thoughts. Danielle wrote this one and I think it’s my favorite of the three! This was inspired by a story we were roleplaying years ago, that we always thought would make a fun book. Maybe we will turn it into a book someday. It’s hard to talk much about it without spoiling it, so I’ll just say, it’s a paranormal story about lost love. “I wish things could go back to the way they used to be…” ….Read More
Live, Laugh, Love
Yesterday there was a death in my family, and it’s things like this that always get me thinking. It was sudden. One minute he was there, the next he was gone. I wasn’t very close to him but it still hit me pretty hard. And today, while I was in the shower, I starting thinking about the game Final Fantasy IX. For those of you that aren’t familiar with the game, there are black mages in it. They were created by an evil queen to use as weapons of war. At first the mages are like mindless drones. They have ….Read More
Updates for Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is almost here, and so is My Unexpected Valentine’s book birthday! That’s right, on Valentine’s Day our little romance novel about love and second chances will be one year old. We thought this was the perfect time to give her a make over. If you follow us on Instagram and Facebook, you’ll have already seen the new cover. If not, here it is! While there were some things we liked about the old cover, there were also some things we didn’t. It was much too bright. The red was very overpowering. We realized it probably isn’t the best ….Read More
Shifter Draft Complete
On July 21, 2020, I started the draft of my Doberman Shifter book. Yesterday, on January 23, 2021, I finished it. You know, I don’t even remember starting it in July. Looking through the files it seems like I started it in July, rewrote the chapter in September, and then the draft really didn’t fully take off until late October. There were obviously a lot of breaks in between then and now, but this is the first time I’ve completely written a novel all by myself, and I have to say, it feels really freakin’ good. I will admit, I ….Read More
Goodbye 2020
Happy New Year! We’re three weeks into 2021 and we’re both feeling optimistic about this new year. We have some big plans going forward. 2020 was amazing for us professionally, but it was a learning year and now the training wheels are coming off. Looking Back Our first release, Redemption, had its first book birthday on December 23rd and that got me thinking about how much we’ve changed since then. Redemption truly changed everything for us. Those who’ve been with us since the beginning know that we finished the first draft of The Cabin Girl back in 2018. It took ….Read More
Christmas Gifts
Merry Christmas! We hope you’ve all had a wonderful holiday! We both had a nice time with our families. It was a day for being with the people we love, and more importantly, a day to celebrate our Savior’s birth. How did you celebrate the holiday? Danielle took some great photos of her dogs in Christmas outfits, and fun video too. You can find Lola, Nori, and little Bindi posted on her Instagram. I took some photos as well, of my cat and dog in their Christmas attire, and Simon and Toby are on our author Instagram. Check them out ….Read More
Our First Book Birthday
It’s a special day! One year ago today, on December 23, 2019, we became published authors. It all started with Redemption. Our first book that has blossomed into a trilogy (with more books possible in the series) and that turned us into official romance authors. We actually intended for Redemption to be released on Christmas Day. The book was ready to go in December, but I believe there were delays getting the cover ready. It was all finalized on the 22nd, and well, we learned the hard way that Amazon won’t let you schedule a release date unless you do ….Read More
Visualize with Pinterest
We’re now on Pinterest! Danielle has been working hard to create boards related to our books. It’s pretty cool to see a collage of images that all convey different aspects of the book. With setting locations, items related to the plot, even animals from the characters’ lives, the boards touch on a bit of everything. (All without being spoilery, of course!) It really seems to give some life to the worlds we created, and we’re excited to share these with readers. Check out the new profile with all the boards at pinterest.com/msdanicaavery. There’s a collection for all of Heart’s Peak, ….Read More
