It’s a special day! One year ago today, on December 23, 2019, we became published authors. It all started with Redemption. Our first book that has blossomed into a trilogy (with more books possible in the series) and that turned us into official romance authors.
We actually intended for Redemption to be released on Christmas Day. The book was ready to go in December, but I believe there were delays getting the cover ready. It was all finalized on the 22nd, and well, we learned the hard way that Amazon won’t let you schedule a release date unless you do it at least a week out. With it being only three days until Christmas at the time, we had to simply submit the book and see whenever Amazon got it processed. It said it could take up to 72 hours, and with the holidays especially, you can imagine we were crossing our fingers to have it done for Christmas. To our surprise, it didn’t even take a full day! Less than 24 hours later, we got confirmation that the book was live. On the 23rd.
So, our first book birthday is today! It’s amazing to look back and see how much we’ve grown this past year. We were so green when we put Redemption out into the world. Compared to a year ago, we look like experts now, ha! Of course, there’s still more for us to learn. Being an independent author is a full time job, and we didn’t have anyone to teach us the ropes. We’ve learned through tons of research and the good ol’ trial and error.
But if it wasn’t for this little small town romance, we wouldn’t have any of this. We’d still be sitting around dreaming of being published someday. Redemption was the book that made our dream a reality. It got us on this road and it’ll forever be special to us.
