Shout-Out to My Co-Author

I just want to take a minute to tell the world how supportive and awesome my co-author is. I feel blessed to have Danielle as a writing partner and as a friend.

One of the struggles Danielle and I have had to overcome as published authors is learning how to keep to a schedule. Developing that writing routine. Before, writing was always a fun hobby and we simply followed our inspiration. But to make a career out of it… well that takes routine and discipline over inspiration.

With each book we write, we’ve been figuring out the best way that works for us. And, yeah, we’ve detoured from our schedule. It’s something we’ve both had trouble with. But sometimes I feel like I’m just slowing her down.

I haven’t really talked about this on social media, but I have a lot of health issues I’m dealing with. Invisible illnesses. I’m what could be called a spoonie. I won’t say my long list of problems because that’s not the point of this message, but my entire life is a struggle with exhaustion and pain.

This means that, a lot of the time, I’m too exhausted to focus on my writing. My chapters will sometimes snail along at segments of a couple hundred words added a day, or even nothing a day. When I’m active on social media, or actively working on the million other things that go into being an independent author, it’s even harder to write.

But even though I’m so freaking slow, my co-author is always supportive. She understands that I can’t write as fast as she can. She picks me up when I’m drowning in guilt or self-doubt. I couldn’t ask for a better partner to be writing books with. And I just wanted to write this post to let everyone know how amazing she is.

Thank you, Danielle, for being patient with me and for encouraging me when I need that boost back up. I could never have written an entire book without you.
