Goals for 2020

Happy New Year, everyone! Hope all of your holidays were wonderful, with quality time spent with family and friends. We had a great Christmas ourselves. We live in different states, so we don’t usually get to celebrate the holiday together, but this year I went to visit D for two weeks in December. It was before Christmas, but we got to do all the Christmasy things like going to parades, making a gingerbread house, cooking cookies, and watching all the holiday movies. It was an experience we’ve never shared before and I really enjoyed it. As we begin 2020, we ….Read More

Best Reads of 2019

As this year draws to a close, we’ve been reflecting on the books we’ve enjoyed the most this year. Together, we’ve read over twenty books ranging from romance to horror. Some have been good, some have been bad. Here’s a list of our personal favorites! In no particular order, and this list was written by the both of us. Carrie by Stephen King When people ask me what my favorite book is, a few books come to mind, but Carrie is always at the top of the list. I can’t say how many times I’ve read this book. I try ….Read More

Sexy Mountain Men

When we were brainstorming a plot for Redemption, we came up with several different ideas. Some of them were cute ideas. Some of them were kind of off the wall. Those of you that read romance actively know there are so many different kinds. I joking suggested doing a mountain man romance, since I had recently seen several of those on Amazon. That little joke is what lead us to writing Redemption. For our first romance, we wanted something simple and not too complicated. The mountain man suggestion turned into a small town romance, and soon enough Heart’s Peak was ….Read More

Man’s Best Friend

For a lot of us, pets are a big part of our lives. Whether you own a dog, a cat, a bird, a horse or even a reptile, it’s so easy to fall in love with them and make them a part of your family. For me personally, I have always loved dogs. I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have one. I think the first dog I remember having in the family was a dog named Chiggers. I don’t think he was my dog, but more of a family dog. I was really young. I ….Read More

Official Goodreads Author

We’re official on Goodreads! As someone who has been actively using Goodreads since 2013, it feels amazing to finally be one of their official authors. It feels unreal. Becoming a published author is something we’ve wanted for so long and it’s almost hard to believe it’s now a reality. Of course, our author page on Amazon has that same incredible feel about it. I want to just shout from the rooftops that I’m finally a published author, haha. Maybe our Goodreads account doesn’t have any ratings or followers yet, but that’s to be expected when we literally just released our ….Read More

Redemption is Live!

Redemption is available now! We planned to release on Christmas Day, so why is it out early? Well, obviously this is our first book release. This entire thing has been a learning experience, and we learned the hard way about how exactly the Amazon release dates work. If you want to use the option to set an exact release date in the future, you have to set it at least a week in advance. Face palm. Discovered that one day too late. And we didn’t want to push our release date to the 26th. The other option Amazon gives you ….Read More

Redemption is Almost Here

We’re thrilled to announce that our novel, Redemption, will be available this Christmas day! Get your Kindles and e-readers ready for a new read this holiday. We hit a few bumps getting the cover prepared, but we’ve been hoping all along to release this book in time for Christmas and we’re very happy we were able to do this. Stay tuned in the coming days for the full cover reveal. Redemption will be available as an ebook on Amazon. Our goal is to have it available on other retailers as well, such as Nook and Kobo, but we’re still working ….Read More

Cabin Girl Update

If you’ve been following us on social media, you know we’ve been working on The Cabin Girl for a long time. We started work in December 2016 and finished the first draft in February 2018. Since then, we’ve been editing and re-writing. And re-writing and re-writing. So why isn’t it finished yet? Well, we’ve run into problems. We’ve been writing together for almost seventeen years, but Cabin is the first book we’ve put together. It was a huge learning experience. We thought it would be very easy, because we’re experienced writers and because we’re avid readers. We were wrong, heh. ….Read More

Welcome to Heart’s Peak

We’ve done it! We took on the challenge of writing a novel in the month of November and we came out victorious. It’s probably closer to a novella, with a word count just under 40k, but it’s a story with a full arc with character development and plot lines all resolved. We’re very proud of how this story turned out! The book will be called Redemption. It’s a strangers-to-lovers tale that follows city girl Dove and mountain man Burley. Dove goes to the small town of Heart’s Peak when she inherits her grandfather’s horse farm. She plans to sell the ….Read More

Status Update – November

It’s November, which means writers are out in full force as many of us are tackling NaNoWriMo. For me, NaNo has always been about trying to hit that goal of writing every day. Not necessarily to finish a novel in a month or even to work toward a novel. It’s the daily challenge that intrigued me. Building stronger writing habits, and all that. This year, we actually are writing a novel in November! We’re offhandedly calling this a quickie romance. A short book, maybe more like a novella. Something to do for fun alongside of The Cabin Girl. We started ….Read More
