The Heart’s Peak Prequel is Here!

Are you a Heart’s Peak fan? Because if you are, you’ll want to read this post. We have a lot of exciting HP news to share with you!

First of all, remember the Heart’s Peak prequel we mentioned in the last post? Well it’s finally here! We titled this book Completely Breathless because that’s how Birdie feels after meeting the suave and sexy billionaire, Rhys Sackler. This book is a short read meant to be an intro to the Heart’s Peak series. As previously mentioned, you’ll see characters and locations from books 1 and 2. For those who have read the books, you can have fun looking for these little Easter eggs. If you haven’t read the books, hopefully the Easter eggs will entice you to go on to read the rest of the series!

Completely Breathless is available on pre-order right now! BUT if you belong to our mailing list, look forward to getting this one in your inbox completely free! Yep, as promised, we’re giving our mailing list subscribers first access to this little tale. We really hope you like it!

If you want to pre-order the book, hop over to Amazon! The book will be officially released on July 28, 2022.

Now onto other Heart’s Peak news, we hit a little bump in the road for Heart’s Peak 3, which set us back a bit. But I’m happy to say that we’re back on track. We’re currently 16 chapters in, and while that sounds like a lot, unfortunately we’re not yet at the halfway mark. This book is going to be long, much like My Latest Mistake. Maybe a little longer. We’re expecting 45-50 chapters. Junie’s coming of age story is full of lots of twists and turns. Junie was a fan favorite and we want to do her justice.

This book is different from the others because the female lead is young and experiencing true love for the first time. It’s an important part of a girl’s life and we don’t want to sully that. Don’t expect this book to be quite as steamy as the first two. It will have steamy scenes but they’ll be mild in comparison to the others.

Because this is Junie’s tale of falling in love for the first time, we thought it only fitting to title the book, First Taste of Love.

We wanted to release the book this summer, but due to the set back, it’s probably going to be released later this year. Look for it either this fall or winter.

That’s it for Heart’s Peak news but it’s not the end of this post. I have more Danica Avery news to talk about!

Do you like dark romances? I know I do. What about the hit show, Sons of Anarchy? If the answer to both of these questions is yes, then I have a treat for you. I’m happy to announce I’m in the process of writing a biker romance. It features, Dash, a guy looking to join the motorcycle club that his late father belonged to. And Bambi, the club president’s sister, who will do whatever it takes to become an official member of the club. Dash is more reserved, while Bambi is extremely outgoing and in your face. Dash doesn’t want to step on the president’s toes by messing with his sister, and Bambi doesn’t care what her brother thinks. She’s the type to go for what she wants. These elements make for an extremely fun couple to write. I’ve already fallen in love with writing them and I can’t wait to eventually share their story with all of you.

I don’t yet have a title, and I can’t say when it will be released. I’m working on this as a solo project, along with working together with Amber to write First Taste of Love. So it’s hard to judge when I’ll be finished with it. But I’ve made a lot of progress so far and if I can keep it up, it should definitely be released later this year.

Now speaking of crime stories, In the Dog House 2 is also in the works. I started it but after some thought, I think I’m going to redo the opening. So for now, it’s been moved to the back burner. I’m kind of thinking I can work on it alongside my biker story but we’ll see. I do have the basic outline thought out. I know how I want it to go and what I want to happen, I just need to fill in the gaps.

And speaking of our shifter world, Amber is still working on her own shifter book. We’ve mentioned it a couple of times. It set in the same world as In the Dog House and features a panther shifter who is also a private eye. Amber’s run into a few kinks here and there, which has set her back. But it’s still very much a work in progress. Hopefully it will be released sometime next year!

I think I’ve finally covered everything now. If you made it this far, thanks for sticking with me! We have a lot of great things in store for our readers this year. I’m happy to see just how far we’ve come since releasing our first book, Redemption, and I’m eager to share more of our stories with all of you!

As a parting gift, I’ll leave you with this excerpt from Completely Breathless. Pre-order it on Amazon today!

Soon enough, the waitress was returning with their food. He passed Birdie’s off to her and watched as she immediately removed the lid from her shake. He felt confused and the next thing he knew, she was reaching into her bag and dipping a fry into the shake.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
“Eating?”
Rhys frowned. She knew that wasn’t what he meant. “Who dips fries in their milkshake?”
“Hey, don’t knock it if you’ve never tried it!”
Rhys gave her a skeptical look. Potatoes and cold dairy products didn’t mix. The thought disgusted him.
“Try it,” she said, dipping another fry into the milkshake. With her free hand acting as a shield underneath it, she stretched the soppy fry towards him.
With a look of disgust, he leaned away. “No. No, thank you.”
“For me?” Birdie asked. Her bottom lip stuck out in a pout and her eyes swelled up like a scolded puppy. It was the saddest look he had ever seen on a woman.
“Oh, that’s cruel,” he said, not being able to fight such a pitiful look. “Fine, I’ll try it.”
Birdie grinned and moved the fry towards his mouth. He felt the urge to pull away again but he stayed strong. The salty potato mixed with the sweetness of the shake floated over his taste buds and… it wasn’t that bad.
Birdie leaned back in her seat as he was chewing the fry. “So?”
“It’s repulsive.”
A hand slapped against his shoulder and he laughed.
“Very well. It wasn’t bad.”
“That’s it?”
“It was good. Are you happy?”
“That’s better,” Birdie said, with a proud smirk on her face.
