A New Series Is Coming

It’s time for a big announcement! While we were writing My Latest Mistake, we started working on a secret side project. Subscribers to our newsletter have already heard the scoop, but now it’s time to make it official. Are you ready?

Our next project is a paranormal shifter romance. It’s set in Texas, and shifters secretly exist alongside humans. It’s the start of a new series, and the books will feature a Doberman shifter and a panther shifter. A fun reflection of how one of us is a dog lover and the other loves cats.

We’re excited about this project because it’s something new for us. The four romance novels we’ve written so far (Redemption, My Unexpected Valentine, My Latest Mistake, and the not-yet-released The Cabin Girl) were all written by us together. They switch POV between two main characters, and each of us took the reins of one character, writing the book back and forth. For this new project, we’re going to each write an entire book on our own!

We’re still working together. We’re running ideas by each other, and building the world together. We’ll be editing both books together, as well. But the actual writing will be done individually. By doing this, we’re going to write two books simultaneously. And the most exciting thing is, we’ve already begun! We have several chapters already written.

The books will be standalone stories set in the same location. The leads each have their own love interests with their own stories going on. Because of the standalone plots, either one could be released first in the series, but we’re planning for the panther book to be first. And yes, these fun characters will cross paths in later books!

Meet Jameson. A panther shifter who works as a private investigator. When a pretty human woman named Ros hires him to investigate her cheating fiance, he uncovers a troubling conspiracy involving shifters that goes deeper than just an unfaithful lover. Jameson’s story will, obviously, be written by the cat lover of us. I’m fond of detective stories and I’m looking forward to writing one of my own. It’s going to have a slow burn romance as Jameson and Ros find themselves as unlikely allies. Shifters and humans aren’t supposed to mix, but some romances are just meant to happen.

Meet Kayden. A Doberman shifter on the other side of the law. A gang of dog shifters use their dog forms to gain access to rich households, that they then rob blind. When they set their sights on robbing a bank, Kayden takes on his toughest undercover job yet. Posing as the family’s dog, he unexpectedly falls for the bank manager’s daughter. But it’s not like anything can happen between them. She only knows him as her dog. This one is being written by Danielle, our dog lover. It will be different from the typical romance, with him falling for her first and then having to figure out how to win her over as a human. But one thing’s for sure, it will definitely be a wild ride.

Another fun tidbit about these books is that they’re going to have side characters based on our beloved pets. Danielle’s Lola and Nori (seen on her doggie Instagram) are members of Kayden’s gang, and the leader is her Mina, who’s now living over the rainbow bridge. And in the panther book, you’ll find my sweet Simon (seen frequently on our author Instagram) as a funny unwanted sidekick to Jameson.

Follow along with us on social media to stay updated on this new project! We’ll be releasing teaser snippets, so you can get to know Jameson and Kayden as their books progress. You’ll also be seeing a new #SuperSecretSideProject with our word count updates… because guess what? We already have our next idea in the works. Yeah, yeah, so we bounce around. Our writing minds are overactive and we’re embracing it. We’ll share the details of this new side project when it’s further along.

I also want to add that finishing The Cabin Girl is high on our priority list. We plan to get it finalized after the shifter drafts are written. And! Heart’s Peak 3 is also on the schedule, for lovers of our original series! The coming year is going to be a busy one, so buckle up.
