Prologue – Part Three

Aria

Aria did not see a kiss coming at all. Traces of sugary coconut goodness were still dancing around her taste buds, and she was focused on the slightly horrifying thought of having food on her face, when suddenly she felt the warmth of Luka’s lips against her own.

She didn’t push him away.

She should have. She most definitely should have. But oh, what a good kiss it was…

Sparks of pleasure ignited her senses. She instantly forgot all about possibly having food on her face. He crashed over her thoughts like a tidal wave and she was blissfully swept away. His tongue coaxed the kiss deeper, and she obliged, matching him as if they were longtime lovers and not two people who only just met.

The kiss may have lasted a minute or it may have lasted an hour, she surely didn’t know which. Luka was the one to pull back. As her eyes fluttered open, she saw him grinning a big happy grin.

“Yep, that was it,” said Luka.

“What?” asked Aria, struggling to regain herself.

“What you had on your lips.” Luka’s hand was touching the side of her face, and now he caressed his thumb along her bottom lip to emphasize his words. “Turns out you just needed a kiss.”

He winked at her and Aria was stunned by the arrogance of that boy.

What stunned her even more was the powerful attraction she felt in that moment. She looked into his playful blue eyes and she wanted to pull him right back into another kiss.

Luckily, she remembered they were sitting in a bakery. How did he have this way of getting her feeling so hot and bothered?!

She scoffed, pushing his hand away from her face, as if she could possibly play off how much she had just enjoyed kissing him.

“You’re so unbelievable,” she said, and he chuckled.

“You know you loved it,” he replied.

“I dunno. I’ve had better.” Aria looked at him with a smirk and a teasing arch of her eyebrow.

“Sure ya have,” Luka said right back without missing a beat. He looked so damn happy with himself. Not the least bit bothered by her teasing remark.

“So, you wanna split the rest of this?” He gestured to the remaining portion of the coconut bomb. It had tasted heavenly, though now all she really wanted to taste was another sample of his lips. Not that she’d admit that. He was cocky enough all on his own.

“No, you can have it,” said Aria, and this time she didn’t change her mind.

Like she needed to give him another excuse to kiss her.

They finished up at the bakery and returned to his decrepit Jeep. She was wearing a skirt and top that probably cost more than his car was worth, and she was slightly embarrassed to be seen climbing into the old dirty thing. At least nobody knew her in this place.

Next on their list was the bridal shop. They’d have to take all this home before getting the chairs, and maybe she’d send him to do that on his own. Thanks to that kiss, she was feeling heated and a little damp between the thighs. He had sparked a fire in her and being near him wasn’t helping to extinguish it.

She subtly studied him as he was driving them to their next stop. He was so not her type… That hat he was wearing looked so redneck that anyone she knew would only wear that ironically. And what was up with those holes in his jeans? They weren’t fashionable holes. They looked more like genuine wear and neglect, like one might see on a homeless person in the city.

Maybe he was tall and, as he put it, devilishly handsome, but he was too rugged and unrefined for her tastes. She liked men who were clean cut and well put together. Men who took care of themselves as much as she took care of herself.

So why couldn’t she stop thinking about that kiss? He really was a great kisser, she had to give him that. It wasn’t like her to lose control. It wasn’t like her at all. But Luka really had a way of getting around her defenses. There was just something about him that struck all the right chords.

Damn it all, she was still feeling anxious for more of his naughty attention when they arrived at the bridal shop. She tried her best to ignore it as they got out of his Cherokee and walked to the door. Mannequins in wedding dresses posed in the storefront windows, and a large sign above the door announced the place was called Kiss the Bride.

“Kiss the Bride, huh? Wouldn’t mind kissing the maid of honor again.” Luka gave her a mischievous grin that set off all sorts of butterflies.

She should’ve denied it. She could’ve gave him some coy answer, or teased him about wanting another go, anything to let him know it wouldn’t be happening again. She just couldn’t help herself when instead she smirked and said, “Maybe you’ll be so lucky.”

Then she pulled open the door and headed inside, before giving him a chance to respond. Oh my gosh, why did she just say that to him? She didn’t need to be inviting anything! Why did he have to be so incredibly tempting?

He came in right behind her, and she didn’t turn to look at him, but she could imagine the cocky grin he’d be wearing on his face.

She immediately caught the attention of a friendly looking woman working in the shop. The woman’s name was Grace and she recognized Aria from when she picked up the dresses with Dove. Grace chatted a little, gushing about how they absolutely must bring her a photo of Dove in her wedding dress, all the while Luka stood by with nothing to say. It was the quietest Aria had seen him and it amused her to think of him feeling out of his element.

Finally, Grace led them over to a desk where she fetched the veil they were there to pick up. She presented it proudly, and Aria touched her fingertips to her lips as she smiled brightly at the sight of it. Oh, Dove was going to look so gorgeous with that veil! It was long, meant to reach down past her hips. Sheer white with beautiful floral embroidery. And… and oh no.

“Oh no, this has a headband?” Aria asked, her voice betraying the sudden panic she felt. It wasn’t supposed to have a headband! It was meant to attach to a hair piece that Dove could style at the back of her head. The headband was all wrong! “It’s supposed to have a hair clip!”

Grace immediately started apologizing. She looked mortified. Still, she said, “Are you sure? I recall showing Dove these headbands…”

“Yes, I’m sure!” snapped Aria. “She picked out a hair clip! It had all these flowers! Oh my gosh, I can’t take this to her.”

“Aria, I bet Dove will still love it,” Luka finally spoke up. “I bet it’s no big deal.”

“But it is a big deal! This will totally not go with the hairstyle she’s picked! She was planning on a clip!”

“Okay, okay, I can fix this,” said Grace quickly. “Don’t you worry, sweetie, I can change it.”

“There’s not enough time!” Aria could hear her voice getting upset. The wedding was tomorrow. If Dove didn’t have the perfect veil that she planned for, the entire thing would be ruined!

Suddenly she felt Luka’s hand between her shoulders. It was an unexpected comfort.

“Please, I promise it won’t take me long to fix it. I’ll get on it right now,” Grace insisted. She offered Aria a smile that was a mix of encouraging and apologetic, took the veil back from her, and hurried off into the back of the shop.

“See? No big deal,” Luka said after Grace was gone. Aria looked up at him and she felt like she should be annoyed by that comment, but his easygoing grin helped her to relax. She felt an urge to hug him, just for being here.

“It actually is a big deal, Luka. But… if she can really fix it, then crisis averted.” Aria put her hands to the side of her head as she let out a worried sigh. Luka shifted so that he stood in front of her, and put his hands to her shoulders.

“Hey, just take a breath. No need to stress out.”

Aria dropped her hands and looked up at him. He stood a foot taller than her, minus the difference her heels made. With him standing so close, she inhaled the aroma of his cologne. It was earthy and masculine, and only furthered her growing attraction to him.

She wanted to say something back to him. Explain why she was stressed out. But then he moved his hands to the sides of her neck. His thumbs caressed the skin before her ears. Gosh, was she blushing? That heat she felt when he kissed her, was now back with a vengeance.

For a long moment, they locked eyes. He looked as if he was going to say something more. She was waiting to hear it. He opened his mouth, then seemed to change his mind.

He leaned down towards her, locking lips with her once more.

It was like an explosion through her mind. She was stressed, worried about the veil, and kissing Luka was the last thing she needed to be doing. Yet the second his lips reunited with hers, it suddenly felt as if there was nothing else she wanted more in the world.

It wasn’t love she felt for this man. She didn’t believe in love at first sight. It was just an intense lust that he personally knew how to bring out of her.

She threw reason to the wind and wrapped her arms around him, pressing her body up against his, drawing a moan out of him that was not unlike the way he moaned over that first taste of coconut bomb.

His hands dropped, sliding down her sides, exploring her curves. It was her turn to moan into the kiss as his hands got a firm squeeze of her butt. She should’ve remembered where they were. But she forgot back at the bakery over simply a kiss… and now she had the entirety of his hard body, alighting her senses and clouding her thoughts.

He squeezed her waist and brought his hands up her back. Every inch he touched of her was another spark for the fire now raging within her core. She needed this man. She just fucking needed him. She felt like she wanted to take him somewhere and do unspeakable things to him. A kiss was no longer enough.

She was breathing heavy by the time he pulled back from the kiss.

“Come with me.” Luka followed his words with another kiss, short but greedy. He grinned at her and took her hand.

Aria felt a little whiplashed, as it occurred to her she had been kissing him with blatantly filthy thoughts while in the middle of a public shop. She let him lead her, yet before she could get properly embarrassed, she realized where he was taking them. He pulled her into a dressing room.

It was large, meant to give women in bridal gowns plenty of space, and the back wall was entirely mirror. Luka shut the door and slid the lock. Aria felt a rush of exhilaration at the thought of being alone with him in a dressing room. But, no, this wasn’t a good idea!

“Wait, Luka, we shouldn’t…” She was cut off by another kiss. His hands cupped her face as her back pressed up against the side wall. She melted on the spot. The kiss was hot and needy and full of desire. She could tell he was wanting her as badly as she wanted him. It was made clear by the evidential feel of something hard pressing against her stomach as he moved in closer against her.

Aria knew they shouldn’t be doing this. She didn’t really do spontaneous. She believed in planning and things having meaning. Things being more proper than… than randomly hooking up in a dressing room. But now that it was happening, she realized she hadn’t felt this excited to have sex with someone in a long time.

Why not live a little?

Luka’s hands were squeezing her ass again. She felt his fingertips graze the back of her thighs as her skirt rode up. If he were to touch her panties, he’d find her soaked. She rubbed her hands up his chest, moaning as she felt the firmness of his muscles. Then he was hoisting her up.

She gasped as she suddenly found herself lifted, supported with his hands under her and her back against the wall. She instantly approved, wrapping her legs around him.

“You shouldn’t be this fucking hott…” she breathed out, pushing her hands up into his hair, knocking that ugly hat off. Luka gave a breathy chuckle that sounded far hotter with lust mixed in. She gripped her fingers through his untidy blond hair as she kissed him again.

Everything became a blur as they kissed and touched each other. It was Aria’s hands that took the next step. She shoved her hands between them, unbuckling his belt, undoing his jeans. Luka moaned at her boldness and it was a sound she’d never tire of hearing. His lips ventured down her neck, leaving a trail of rough love that she’d probably have to hide with makeup tomorrow, as he let her work on his pants. Aria bit onto her lip to keep herself from moaning too loudly.

Luka took charge as soon as his erection was freed. He wasted no time at all shifting her into position and shoving her panties aside. He met her eyes as he thrust his full length into her. A wave of sensations crashed over her. Was that a connection she felt in his eyes… or was she just dizzy from the adrenaline of all this?

She felt so blissfully at his mercy as he started fucking her against that wall. His pace was fast, matching the kisses they had shared. He seemed to hold her with such ease as he pushed into her again and again… Every thrust brought her to new heights!

She dropped one hand, digging her acrylic nails into the fabric wall, as her other hand gripped the back of his neck. Oh, this wasn’t a bad idea at all! This was the best idea she ever had! Ohhh, it felt so good!! She lost count of how long he rode into her, as she felt herself quickly building to climax. She didn’t even realize how much louder she was moaning, until Luka let out another breathy laugh and put a hand over her mouth.

“Shhh… baby, you’ll… give us away…” he grunted, his words laced with moans of his own, that he was somehow managing to keep quieter.

Aria didn’t even mind. Her lips against his palm as he tried to quiet her only made it feel more exciting! She couldn’t quiet herself even if she tried. Especially as Luka started thrusting into her faster. It was too much. Her body erupted with pleasure as one of the best orgasms she ever had engulfed her.

Luka continued to pound into her, drawing out her orgasm, making it feel more powerful. Then he reached his own release and he leaned his body snugly into her, properly pinning her to the wall, as he finally let out a loud moan himself.

He dropped his hand from her mouth. With his forehead against the wall beside her, she rested in his embrace as he panted hard and came down from the cloud he had put her onto.

Did that just happen?

With the tingles of pleasure dancing over her entire body, she breathed heavily against him.

In her entire life, sex had never been so fabulously good.
