Busy times! For the last few months, we’ve been working our tails off. We got serious about becoming published authors, and that fire is still roaring within us.
After finishing Redemption, we’ve been working on a Valentine’s Day romance titled My Unexpected Valentine. The draft is finished (woohoo!) and we’re working on editing and polishing. We’re optimistically hoping it will be fully finished after next week. This book is longer than our first, so editing will take longer, but it should still be finished this month. The cover is also in the works and should be finished very soon. We’ll have a cover reveal on Instagram and Facebook, so feel free to follow us on social media for all the updates!
We’re excited to have this Valentine romance released! The characters have amazing chemistry and the story has a lot of humor and cuteness. It’s a fun story, just in time for the holiday. We plan to set up My Unexpected Valentine for pre-order on Amazon once everything is ready to roll. It will be available this Valentine’s Day, February 14th! We’ll probably give a sneak peak of the opening chapters on the site here and on Wattpad.
So what’s next on the agenda?
Next we’re going to work on the second Heart’s Peak book. We’re major multitaskers, so we’ve already been working here and there on the plotline while we were writing Valentine. The story will follow Luka and Aria, and following the theme set by the first book, it will have secrets for the characters to overcome and steamy love scenes.
Also sometime in the coming months, we’re going to sit down and give The Cabin Girl the attention it needs. No, we haven’t made a decision yet about what direction to go with it (split it into two or keep it as one long book). We’re leaning right now on keeping it as one book and just giving it a serious hair cut. We’re going to give the current draft another read through and see what we can do for it.
We have a rough schedule set for ourselves for the entire year. But for now, I’ll leave you with our immediate plans. And, of course, an excerpt from the upcoming release!

Excerpt from My Unexpected Valentine
The bookstore, like many other stores this time of year, had a Valentine’s Day section towards the front. Pink hearts, candy, mushy stories about romance and true love. Normally seeing that display would make her want to roll her eyes. Today, however, it made her think of Nolan.
She looked around, and made her way to the sci-fi section. There, in a very different kind of display, was Nolan’s Dark Moon series. She ran her fingers lightly over his name on the cover and smiled. Despite the troubles of her case that were eating away at her conscience, Nolan still found a way to brighten her day without even trying to.
She picked up the book, the first book of the series, and read the description. The book was about a second moon that had randomly appeared in the sky one day. A black moon in contrast to the white moon the earth already had. Emily had to admit, the description got her intrigued.
She pulled her cell phone from her purse and brought up the camera. Holding the book up near her face, she took a selfie of her holding the book. She took more than one because the first one is never good enough, then she sent the picture to Nolan.
Look what I found at the bookstore, she typed before hitting the send button. She didn’t stand around waiting for him to reply. She tucked the book under her arm and went to the check out register.
As she was getting into her car, her phone vibrated back.
You know the name on that cover looks familiar…
Emily scoffed and shook her head before typing back. I wonder why that is?
No idea. Is it any good?
Just a book about a bunch of sci-fi nonsense. Probably boring.
In response to that text came three angry emojis with steam coming out of their nose. Emily laughed out loud.
No, seriously. It sounds interesting. I can’t wait to start reading it, she typed back.
Awesome. You’ll have to tell me what you think.
Of course. Hey, you wanna have dinner after I get off work?
You don’t even have to ask.
