Let’s welcome in the new month with a freebie!
My Unexpected Valentine is available for free this week on Amazon! Since its release in February of this year, it’s never had a promo week. We did offer it for free once during a release party, but everyone may not have caught that, so why not give it a week of its own? So for September 1-4, grab it absolutely free!
You could get it and save it for Valentine’s Day, or why not just dive in right now? V Day is the setting, but it’s not the entire plot. The story is about the characters. It’s about two people who feel their lives are in a rut, and how their lives are bettered by finding each other. It’s a story about second chances and about finding love in an unexpected place.
Emily and Nolan have a bad history. They hated each other in high school and never saw each other again. So what happens when, in their 30s, they get set up on a blind date by a new dating app? My Unexpected Valentine has a lot of humor, a lot of geeky references, and a lot of heart.
We also updated My Unexpected Valentine to include the opening chapters of Redemption, so it’s got a little bonus for you!
Are you a Kindle Unlimited reader? You may want to take advantage of this freebie now, because My Unexpected Valentine will be leaving KU after this week. We want to make it available on other avenues, so it most likely will not be returning to Kindle Unlimited.

I’ll leave you now with a little tease from My Unexpected Valentine, and I hope you grab your copy today!

Excerpt from My Unexpected Valentine
Now, at 33 years old, she was going to give it a try. With Nolan Peters.
The skates felt heavy on her feet as the two of them walked towards the ice-covered pond. There were a few people already on the ice, but not a lot. Emily paused as she watched a mother and her small daughter skate by. They were holding hands, and the little girl was laughing. Emily smiled.
“Are you ready?” Nolan asked.
When Emily looked back to him, that perfect grin spread across his lips. She felt a slight fluttering inside her chest but she ignored it.
“If I bust my ass, I’m blaming you,” she said.
He laughed. “That’s not gonna happen.”
“How can you be so sure?” she asked.
“Because I got you,” he said confidently. “I won’t let you fall. I promise.”
There was that fluttering again. Little wings flapping inside her chest.
“I’m holding you to that,” she said.
He laughed as he stepped onto the ice. She hesitated a moment, then cautiously did the same. She wasn’t sure what to expect. She had roller skated a long time ago in Nevada. She assumed ice skating would be similar to that. What she didn’t expect was how slick the ice was underneath the blade of her skates. When she had both feet on the ice, she immediately began to slip.
Strong hands gripped her waist, catching her and steadying her. Out of instinct, her hands latched onto his shoulders.
“I told you. I got you,” he said. He was grinning again but there was something about the way he said that. I got you. He had her. She was his…
For a brief moment, she became very aware of the warmth of his hands on her hips. Her heart quickened, and her eyes got lost in his. He leaned in close, her lips parted… and then a scream.
Both of them snapped out of it, turning to the source of the cry. It was the little girl. She had fallen on the ice. Her mother was scooping her up and consoling her. Telling her it would be okay.
Emily dropped her hands from his shoulders. “Okay, Romeo, are you gonna teach me how to skate, so I don’t end up like that little girl?”
The moment was gone.
