Hello everyone! Hope your summer is going amazingly. It took some work to get back into our proper writing routine. Real life stresses are constantly present, and we have a bad habit of getting distracted by other things we want to write. We managed to get back into a good groove, though. July turned out to be pretty productive! We’ve completely rewritten chapters 7 through 12 of The Cabin Girl. Fully completing six chapters in a month is great progress for us. Coming up, chapter 15 will be a brand new chapter entirely, and we’re in debates right now if ….Read More

Roleplay Helps and Hurts
I’ve mentioned this in places before, but we come from a roleplay background. I’m talking about text or forum roleplay. I’m sure many writers can relate. For those who aren’t familiar, roleplay is basically when you and your partner write a story together in turns. Each of you controls your half of the characters and the situation evolves as you go, dialogue line by line, action by action. We actually became friends through a roleplay forum. Through several, actually, because what RPer worth their weight sticks with only one forum? (It’s an addiction, mmkay.) Our friendship grew along with our ….Read More
Status Update – June
Hello everyone! I’m happy to announce that our hiatus has come to an end. We’ve hit some bumps, but we’re working to get back into our daily editing routine. It’s been hard to get back into the right mindset. Losing a pet as close to our hearts as Mina has been difficult to get over. But time has helped, and we want to get our novel moving again. We’re currently working on chapters 7 and 8 of The Cabin Girl. We added a brand new chapter 3, we have a couple more new chapters planned, and we’re basically rewriting all ….Read More
Status Update
I had to make a choice that was not mine; I had to say goodbye for the last time.– Shinedown It’s with a heavy heart that we update everyone on what’s been going on. Two months ago, on February 14th, we had to say goodbye to a very special furbaby. Mina had been in D’s life for 17 long years. She was a gorgeous Jack Russell Terrier. She had the softest coat I’ve ever felt on a dog. Even in her old age, her coat remained soft. Such a beautiful dog. She was so intelligent, too. I swear, sometimes it ….Read More
Attending a Book Signing
Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of meeting author Dawn Wright at her book signing. I’ve met authors before at conventions, but this was the first time I’ve attended a book signing event. I was both curious and nervous. It was similar to the first time D and I attended our first convention, all those years ago. It’s simply intimidating when you don’t know what exactly to expect. But let me tell you, it turned out I had no reason at all to be afraid! The atmosphere was so casual, and Dawn was so friendly. She immediately made me ….Read More
Next on the Horizon
Happy New Year!! We hope your holidays were full of cheer and good times! Now that we’re all kicking off a new year, it seems a fitting time to announce our coming projects. Our greatest goal for 2019 will be, of course, to get The Cabin Girl released. Alongside that, we’ve begun work on two more titles. We’re set on having these other two finished, or nearly finished, by the end of this new year. Now don’t sit there shaking your head! It sounds like a lot, yeah, but we’re optimistic we can complete them faster than we did The Cabin Girl ….Read More
The Cabin Girl
We’re thrilled to announce that our first published novel will be titled The Cabin Girl. This milestone has been a long time coming for us, and we’ve put over two years of work into this title alone. We began brainstorming this idea in December 2016. It was meant to be an entry into a writing competition. A fun little story we whipped up from scratch. Then it grew into so much more. We didn’t make the deadline, didn’t even enter that competition, but this adventure romance was born. We decided to make this story our first published novel. We worked ….Read More
A Big Wave Hello
Break out the party streamers because we’re finally getting this show on the road! This is the ground breaking, the grand opening, the ribbon cutting of our literary career. But wait, you may be asking yourself, what’s this ‘we’ and ‘our’ business? Well, my friends, let me explain. Danica Avery is not one person. It’s the joint pen name of two authors. Let’s just call us D and A, shall we? We’ve been writing together for a very long time. We met on a roleplay forum back in 2003 and we’ve been writing partners ever since. We actually write better ….Read More
