Happy New Year!! We hope your holidays were full of cheer and good times! Now that we’re all kicking off a new year, it seems a fitting time to announce our coming projects.
Our greatest goal for 2019 will be, of course, to get The Cabin Girl released. Alongside that, we’ve begun work on two more titles. We’re set on having these other two finished, or nearly finished, by the end of this new year. Now don’t sit there shaking your head! It sounds like a lot, yeah, but we’re optimistic we can complete them faster than we did The Cabin Girl because we’re not starting them from scratch.
Our pirate romance was a story new in every way. The setting was new to us and we created the characters specifically for that book. We had to flesh everything out about them and do proper worldbuilding. All that is time consuming. That’s not the case with the two books that we hope to follow it with. These new books are both based on roleplays we’ve done, with characters we’ve been writing for years. There’s a difference in writing something new and rewriting something familiar.
So, that’s our New Year’s resolution! To publish The Cabin Girl and to complete full drafts of our next two books.
Another goal of ours, as writers, is to offer books in a variety of settings. We aim to have a little something everyone can enjoy. With that in mind, these other two are not pirate stories. One is set in a normal modern world and the other is an alternate reality.
The modern world plot will be called Secret Lovers. Set in the high class world of New York City, a carefree playboy begins a dangerous affair with a trophy wife. It’s all fun and games to them at first, but what happens when feelings turn into something more? She’s married to a powerful man who would not take the betrayal lightly, so the two of them are playing with fire. While The Cabin Girl is an adventure, Secret Lovers will be a steamier romance with more risque situations.
The alternate reality plot is something entirely different. It will be called World of Women and, as the name suggests, it’s set in a world where women have taken over every aspect of society. The story follows an innocent young woman who experiences a man for the first time when her mother hires one from a companion rental agency. Sparks fly, but what is she to do in a world where it’s illegal to fall in love? World of Women will probably fall somewhere between the other two in terms of steamy content.
We’ve already begun work on these two. We have full outlines laid out and a bit of their writing done. It’s nice to have other projects to focus on while taking mind breaks from the priority project. Here’s to hoping we have a very productive year in 2019!
